Here we go!....

This my friends, is my very first post! I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now... mostly to keep in touch with my friends and family abroad (or not in Missoula). You should know though.. I am not an English major or a native English speaker and will therefore make no sense to you sometimes.....especially when some of my posts are written in Spanish :). So... what's  up with the name?! well... as some of you know the Monkey Puzzle Tree- ARAUCARIA- is a native tree of Chile and like me, it can survive and even thrive in the northern hemisphere. It is a tough but sensitive species and has an interesting look... you might say we have a lot in common :)

    Congrats! I may not be your target audience since I am in Missoula but I still look forward to checking in on your new blogging adventure! Your forward about language rifts reminds me of the time I sent you an email with a comment about me being on a run with "puns". Well, as I recall you had quite the laugh because apparently punning meant something quite different in Spanish.
